The city of Beclean is located in the Romanian county of Bistrita-Nasaud, in the northern part of the country. 48% of the county is mountainous, 49% is considered hilly, with only about 3% meadow lands and river ways. The soil in the area contains a rich set of natural resources, like: gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, salt deposits and natural gas. There is very rich and dense vegetation, in addition to various types of wildlife, such as bear, deer, foul like stork and black eagle, which are considered natural monuments of Romania. With all this beauty and habit, the area surrounding Beclean has become a popular tourist destination. Tourists are attracted by lakes, rivers, historic architecture and monuments of the area in addition to it natural beauty.

The city of Beclean has a population of approximately 12,000 people. It’s because Help Ministries has a desire to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ that we are reaching into this area of the world. It was through much prayer and divine intervention that this door of evangelism opened, with a relationship with Pastor Luca Denes. Having already paved the way with 101.7fm SOS Radio in Ploiesti, Romania, HMI was going to the uttermost parts of the earth. In August of 2004, Radio-SOS Beclean signed on the air, 24 hours a day. This station is a powerful influence, reaching the city of Beclean and the 27 surrounding villages with the positive message of Jesus Christ.
